Children need their own space where they can play, learn, relax, and if need be, “get away” from adults.
Therefore, if at all possible, allow them a special room intended exclusively for them. It’s better that they have a small room than no room at all.
Before you start to adjust and equipping children’s room, make sure to perform in accordance with certain rules, because the children’s room “grows” with the kids and with them changes.
Be prepared for the refurbishment and redeployment rooms every few years as a child (or children) grow. When decorating a child’s room, pay attention to three things:
• Safety (sharp edges, electricity, protective fencing …)
• Convenience (bunk bed, shelves, and drawers in unused parts of the room …)
• Curiosity (edit room so that the children are interesting and comfortable to stay)
Children’s room should have three areas: to sleep, to learn and to play. As the babies grow very fast, and therefore their needs grow, keep this in mind and anticipate the specific needs of the child and leave space so you can easily make changes.
If the room is small or if it is provided for two or more children, lack of space solves using bunk beds. Not only you save space, children are brought an extra joy because they love this kind of beds that are often used for the game.
For space-saving use and folding chairs, and each “hole” fill the shelves or cabinets with drawers to keep the children having a place to clean up their “empire”. You can never have enough shelves, drawers, and cabinets in the nursery. If several children share a room in which there is enough room, beds can agree in parallel next to one another with a minimum gap of 60 cm or in the form of the letter “L”.
The wardrobe is an essential piece of furniture in children’s room, but if at all possible, do not put in it your stuff but fully surrender it to your child. If possible, set up the desk so that it reaches enough daylight and from the left (or right if the child is left-handed).
Work desk equipped and appropriate desk lamp. Do not place a bed with or below the window for safety and health reasons. Also, the bed is not well set up with a radiator or other heat source.
Paint for the walls and furniture should be in cheerful colors, but be careful not to overdo it. If the children are older (over 10 years), let them stick posters of their favorite characters on the wall and smaller children place the figures from the world of cartoons. For such opportunities wallpapers are the best solution, that can quickly and easily be installed and removed.
Be careful when selecting lighting fixtures that can attract the attention of small children.
And finally, in the arrangement of children’s rooms ask your kids, as though it’s their room where they spend the most time, the order and to decide (within certain limits) of how it will look.
