Tips To Prevent & Treat Shoe Bites

1. Heat

The first thing you need to do is put on your thick socks. In case you do not own thick socks, use regular socks, just put on from 2 to 3 pairs. Remember, the tighter your shoes are, the thicker your shocks need to be.

After you put on the socks, put your tight shoes. Then, take the blow-dryer and dry the tight places of the shoes for a couple of seconds. In order to stretch the material while you blow-dry, you need to flex your feet and wiggle your toes.

Turn off the blow-dryer, but do not remove the shoes immediately. Wear them until they cool off. Once they cool down, take them off, remove the socks and try on your shoes.

Now, the shoes should fit. In case you need to loosen them more, you can simply repeat this process.

2. Candle Wax

Another method to prevent shoe bite is to use candle wax. Take one candle and put the wax on the hard edges of your shoes. This will help to smooth the areas where shoe bites usually occur.

Use a lot of wax, since it can wither off soon, which means that shoe bites might occur again.

How To Do It

Rub wax on the hard edges. Whenever you feel discomfort, you can rub wax on your shoes again. You will need to repeat this for a couple of days until your shoes stop hurting and eventually stretch.

3. Duct Tape Or Band-Aid

This is the easiest way when it comes to prevention of shoe bite. You just need to cover your skin, and in that way, you will avoid friction.

The Band-Aid can prevent and at the same time heal a shoe bite. You can use duct tape, but only if you do not have a sore.

How To Do It

Stick a piece of duct tape or a Band-Aid to the place where there is the possibility of sores from the edge of your shoes or the ankle straps.

4. Double Socks

You can make a buffer between your thight shoe and skin simply by wearing an additional pair of socks.

How To Do It

Put on two pairs of cotton socks and then put on your new shoes. In this way, you will prevent a shoe bite and eventually loosen up your shoes.

5. Freezing

This hack can help you prevent shoe bites. It is very simple, you just need to put a bag filled with water inside of your shoes. Then freeze it, and that will loosen up your new shows.

What happens is that the water expands upon freezing and that in turn helps to stretch the shoes.

Take 2 ziplock bags and fill them with water. Put the amount of water necessary to fill up the toe cap of your shoes. Before you seal the bags, make sure to squeeze out the air. Put the bags inside the shoes.

Finally, put your shoes in the freezer for 4-8 hours. This is enough for the water to freeze. Then remove them and check if your shoes fit comfortably. If necessary, you can do this procedure all over again.

How To Treat Shoe Bites

1. Indian Lilac And Turmeric

When it comes to skin healing for that the Indian Lilac and turmeric are known as old remedies. Both things have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties which protects from infections and helps heal the wound.

In order to treat your shoe bite, you need to blend turmeric powder and Indian Lilac paste.

  • Turmeric powder – 1 tbsp.
  • Indian Lilac paste- 1 tbsp.

The first thing you need to do is make a paste. In a bowl add 1 tbsp. of Indian Lilac paste and 1 tbsp. of turmeric powder. Mix both ingredients, and if there is a need you can add few drops of water.

Next thing you need to do is put the paste on your sore. Leave it for around 20 minutes and then wash it thoroughly with warm water.

In order to keep your skin moisturized you can apply coconut oil. To notice results, you need to do this procedure twice on a daily basis for 4 days.

2. Aloe Vera

The gel from Aloe Vera reduces the burning and pain of the shoe bite and has a cooling effect. This will keep your skin hydrated and also help in the recovery of your sore.

Put the gel on your shoe bite and leave it until it dries. Repeat this few times on a daily basis.

3. Dry Powder

In many cases, shoe bites occurs because of sweaty feet which cause friction. Dry powder can aid you to reduce irritation and burning, and at the same time, it will maintain your feet dry.

Put dry powder in places where there is the possibility of shoe bite. In addition, if you already have sore, coat it with powder. Do this couple of times on a daily basis.

4. Coconut Oil

6. Vaseline

This method is best to use before bedtime. Put a large amount of petroleum jelly on your shoe bite. Then all you need to do is put on cotton socks and leave it overnight. To notice results, you will need to do this 3 nights in a row.
